Call for workshop proposals
The theme of the seventh annual LCEEQ Conference is: Embracing Diversity…Supporting Equity
LCEEQ is seeking proposals from all its partner organizations, representing students of all ages and levels. Sessions will be 90 minutes in length. Proposals should address various aspects of these subthemes (the suggested list is far from complete):
- How educational institutions at all levels provide the best possible learning experiences for all students;
- Descriptions of specific programmes and practices for students with exceptional learning needs;
- How multiculturalism, a respect for human rights, and fundamental values are demonstrated in our educational organizations;
- Implementing inclusive educational practices;
- Developing effective collaborative social learning environments including peer instruction and active learning;
- How strengths-based approaches and a focus on resilience can assist students in overcoming challenges which limit their opportunities for success.
The deadline for submissions is May 15th, 2015.

LCEEQ ANNUAL SEMINAR APPROACHING QUICKLY
Every April members of the LCEEQ Committee devote time to review the Strategic Plan, to evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing projects, and to identify topics to be examined in the twelve months to follow. This year, Leo LaFrance, former Assistant Deputy Minister will animate a session entitled, “Why create a Leadership Committee for English Education in Quebec?”. The current Assistant Deputy Minister, Chantal Beaulieu will address, “Interfacing with LCEEQ as ADM and the challenges of today’s educational context for the English sector”. Committee members are looking forward to a robust two days of deliberations and long-term planning.
