The LCEEQ introduced a new grant type a couple of years ago and we have realized there is a need for clarification in the community as to what sort of projects qualify.
Along with the LCEEQ 2025-2026 Funding document, here are some key points to further explain the program:
- The team identified in the application refers to the school’s administration and leadership team, which will receive ongoing coaching and support from the designated expert or resource person.
- While initial professional development (PD) may be offered to the entire school/centre or a selected group within your school or centre, the key component is that the administration and leadership team continue to receive support from the expert to reinforce and extend what was learned.
- This ongoing support should include scheduled follow-up sessions between the administration/leadership team and the designated expert or resource person, along with clear guidance on next steps and timelines, and continued access to the expert/resource person throughout the year for additional support.
This is not a "one-and-done" Professional Development activity, the administration and leadership team must continue to receive coaching or support from the expert or resource person to best be able to assist their school or centre in the area targeted for change as described in their grant application.
