This session will provide an overview of the principles and practices of The Reggio Emilia Approach and how these connect to the teaching and learning of mathematics and experiencing numeracy. Janice will provide examples of provocations, investigations, and projects that connect early mathematics concepts and materials in different places and spaces, including studio and outdoor contexts.
A little more about Janice
Janice Novakowski is a district teacher consultant for the Richmond School District in BC and is an adjunct professor at UBC. She facilitates the BC Reggio-Inspired Mathematics Project and is part of the BC Numeracy Network.
