The first two-day residential session will be held November 25 and 26, 2024, followed by a two-day session March 20-21, 2025 and a final two-day session November 20-21, 2025

Part 1 - November 25 & 26, 2024 at Auberge des Gallant
November 25 with Ainsley Rose - Leadership Starts from Within: They Set Clear Goals and Direction
Before we can hope to lead others, we must be clear about our own mission, vision and values that drive our beliefs about teaching, learning, students, and teachers who form the basis of the school culture. We will explore our “Why”, build our “I” Believe statement and continue to clarify our vision of school leadership. In the first of six sessions, time will be taken to build our learning community, establish our norms and further clarify our “WHY” as leaders.
November 26 with Matthew McDaniel - 2 sessions
Session 1: "Authentic Leadership: Who am I?"
Participants will explore the essence of authentic leadership and its transformative impact on educational environments. This interactive workshop will guide leaders through self-identification of individual strengths, values, and purpose. Strategies to cultivate trust, foster genuine relationships, and inspire both staff and students through each person's unique leadership style will be identified and paired with action steps. By reflecting on personal values and aligning them with professional practices, participants will gain insights into developing an authentic leadership approach that not only drives organizational success but also fosters a positive, inclusive school culture. This session will take participants on a journey of self-discovery and professional growth, leaving each equipped with new tools to lead with authenticity and purpose.
Session 2: "Deprivatizing Professional Practice: A Guide to Enhancing Collective Efficacy"
Are you looking for practical ways to develop and sustain collective efficacy among practitioners in your school? This session will explore solutions to break down barriers, build trust, and leverage the tremendous skills of each member of your organization. Deprivatizing professional practice revolves around the idea of encouraging each professional in your organization to share their strengths with others, while simultaneously improving their skills by learning from others. Participants will walk away with a variety of applied practices that can be implemented immediately to establish, improve and sustain collective efficacy.
Part 2 - March 20 & 21, 2025 at Auberge des Gallant
March 20 with Dean Shareski - Beyond Awareness: Leading the Generative AI Shift in Education
This immersive, full-day workshop explores the rapidly evolving landscape of Generative AI in schools. School leaders will dive deep into the risks and opportunities, understanding that effective leadership requires more than passive awareness. From personal engagement to professional responsibility, intellectual curiosity to policy crafting, this session will equip you to lead the AI transformation with confidence and foresight. Bring your laptops, excitement and concerns as we work together to better address this emerging societal and educational shift.
March 21 with Joanne Henrico - Navigating Challenges and Building Trust with Stakeholders
This workshop will equip educational leaders with essential communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholder groups. Participants will learn to understand the importance of strategic communication in supporting change management and learning within their school/centre/department, while also addressing challenges such as avoiding information overload. The workshop covers the development of clear, concise, and timely communication strategies tailored to specific audiences, ensuring consistent messaging across various platforms. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of gathering and incorporating stakeholder feedback, building trust through open communication, and regularly reviewing and adapting communication practices to stay effective. By the end of the workshop, participants will be prepared to navigate communication challenges, build strong relationships, and foster a more collaborative, informed work environment.
Part 3 - November 20 & 21, 2025 at Auberge des Gallant
November 20 with Kristin Anderson - Leadership Well-Being: Learning to Thrive, Not Just Survive
The quality of a school system lies in the excellence of its leaders and educators; if their wellbeing deteriorates, (which causes ONE to experience burnout, hopelessness, and seek to find a way out) we can predict this will have a devastating impact on how and what children will learn and become for decades, not to mention their own wellbeing.
This practical and life-giving series will empower leaders to build their emotional wellness (as well as those they lead) through the development of their personal resources (e.g. self-compassion, ability to navigate emotional labor and compassion fatigue, resilience, self-efficacy, etc.). Attendees will receive valuable tools, resources, and ideas to prioritize and own their wellbeing, as well as learn how to make it a priority in their school.
November 21, 2025 with Ainsley B. Rose -
Every day, across the world, planes soar high above the cloud deck criss-crossing the skies leaving trails of vapor in their wake. Do you ever wonder what it takes to plan, schedule, monitor, fly and safely and successfully land those planes at the right time in the right place? Well, schools present similar challenges, particularly for the people who, like pilots with their crew, transport passengers safely to their learning destination.
After five sessions dealing with leadership, we need to be able to triangulate the location of our successful landings while delivering high levels of learning to all our students as well as develop the skills of the professional staff who interact daily with the students. This closing session participants will connect some of the dots (big ideas) of the learning from the previous sessions in order for the participants to build a flight path (plan) that will take their passengers (students and teachers) safely and successfully from take-off to landing.

This multi-part workshop is sponsored by The Leadership Committee for English Education in Quebec (LCEEQ). There is no registration fee.
Costs for travel and hotel accommodations are the responsibility of the School Board or the school.
There are substantial subsidies available for Boards/Associations. For details on how it applies to residential projects, please see the LCEEQ Cost Sharing Policy
Please Note: This Workshop consists of three parts; registered participants are required to attend in-person November 2024, March 2025 and November 2025. Registration for one part of the Workshop is not an option.

Accommodation Details
Cost at Auberge des Gallant:
$212 + tax per person, per night double occupancy $294 + tax per person, per night single occupancy
These prices include 3 meals a day and access to all hotel facilities.
Participants are encouraged to opt for double occupancy in order to provide additional bedroom space permitting more participants. LCEEQ will assist you in finding a roommate, if requested.
Participants will be booking their hotel reservations; additional information will be provided following your registration.
