Join In Our 11th Anniversary Conference

February 10-11, 2020

The LCEEQ Annual Conference is a hallmark professional development activity in the English-speaking Educational Community in Québec. Annual attendance in the last several years has exceeded seven hundred educators from all corners of the province.

Last February we presented the theme “Well Being – Being Well”. The Conference was rated as extremely successful, dealing with a very timely issue in our educational setting at so many different levels. LCEEQ decided to further develop the theme as there are still so many considerations to be given to this very important topic.

Participants have always maintained that a real strength of this annual professional learning session is the quality and diversity of the local presenters. This is your opportunity to share your expertise. You are invited to submit a presentation proposal.

Join an exciting team of invited speakers including:

  • Dr. Kimberly Schonert-Reichl - Applied Developmental Psychologist and a Professor in the Human Development, Learning, and Culture area in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, and Special Education at the University of British Columbia
  • Dr Susan Rodger – Psychologist and Associate Professor in the Graduate Program in Counselling Psychology at the Faculty of Education at Western University and a Research Associate at the Centre for Research and Education on Violence Against Women and Children and the Centre for School-Based Mental Health
  • Michael Kuczala - A thought leader on using physical activity in teaching, training, and learning
  • Dr. David Tranter - Associate Professor at Lakehead University and author of The Third Path: A Relationship-Based Approach to Student Well-Being and Achievement
  • Mary Gordon - the Founder, President and the inspiration behind Roots of Empathy and Seeds of Empathy. She is recognized internationally as an award-winning social entrepreneur, educator, author, child advocate and parenting expert who has created programs informed by the power of empathy
  • Jack Talks Organization - Trained and certified youth speakers use the power of personal stories and mental health education to inspire, engage, educate, and equip young people to look out for themselves and their peers

Consideration will be given to individual and small groups of presenters. Please note that submissions deemed commercial will not be retained. If you are a member of a School Board/Association affiliated with LCEEQ it is important that you inform your organization of your interest to submit a proposal to participate as the Board/Association will be responsible for any financial support (e.g. release time, travel…).

You have a great deal to offer other educators across the province – this is the time for action.
