Cette ressource en ligne aidera à identifier le titre, le mandat et la composition des divers comités exerçant une influence sur l’éducation au Québec.

The Advisory Board on English Education (ABEE)

The mandate of the Advisory Board on English Education (ABEE) is to advise the Minister of Education on all matters affecting the educational services offered to English elementary and secondary schools and adult and vocational education centres. The Minister may also ask the Board for advice on a specific topic.

Québec English School Boards Association (QESBA)

Purpose/Mandate: The purpose of the Quebec English School Boards Association (QESBA) is to advocate appropriate education for students in both the youth and adult sectors and to enhance the effectiveness of school commissioners and member school boards in the areas of education, finance, administration and labour relations. Because school commissioners and boards are valued clients, the prime focus of the Association is to fulfill the needs of school boards. In this perspective, we communicate, collaborate and cooperate with other educational organizations including the Ministry of Education.

Provincial Organization of Continuing Education Directors English (PROCEDE)

Purpose/Mandate: Procede’s mandate is to:

  • Act as a forum and consultative body for the nine English-language school boards
  • Provide policy orientation and strategy recommendations to the MELS and our boards
  • Oversee the development and delivery of adult general education and vocational training curricula and programming
  • Coordinate professional development activities for all personnel

Directors of English Education Network (DEEN)

Purpose/Mandate: The Directors of English Education Network (DEEN) will provide pedagogical leadership for the Quebec English public school system. The DEEN will address provincial pedagogical priorities for the English public school system by:

  • sharing expertise
  • supporting the development of resources
  • coordinating services
  • advising on pedagogical issues
