LCEEQ Launches a New Year

The first General Meeting of the LCEEQ is on Wednesday, September 15th, when our host will be the Lester B. Pearson School Board. The Committee is unique in the province in that it represents all levels of education from Pre-school, the Youth and Adult and Vocation Sectors, English speaking CEGEPS, and three major Universities. The table includes members of the public and private sectors, teachers, administrators and professionals, as well as, representatives of the pedagogical, andragogical and complementary services, and representatives of the Ministry of Education. Do you know who represents you? Visit the website for more information so that you are better informed about what is happening in the English Educational Community.

Goodbye 2015-2016

A Successful Summer for Professional Development

LCEEQ was extremely active during the month of August offering several different professional development workshops. More than two hundred Elementary Mathematics teachers were joined by their Consultants at Manoir St. Sauveur for a week of intensive training. School administrators and those aspiring to the position completed the last three days of a six-day program in Leadership. Teachers intent on learning ways to help their students engage in authentic writing worked with Linda Rief in a Writer’s Workshop while teachers new to the profession, and some wishing a refresher, did a workshop in English Language Arts.

Our monthly winner

Monthly Winner

After a little time off to recharge the batteries, LCEEQ is delighted to announce the prize winner for the summer months. Sylvie Archambault is a full-time teacher who for the past ten years has worked for the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board at Mountainview High School, on a Youth Center campus in Prévost. Sylvie teaches a variety of subjects including Social Sciences and Ethics and Religious Culture at all levels. She is also active in offering extracurricular activities including bracelet and jewelry making. The live-in students particularly enjoy these activities as they provide some relaxation and creativity.

Sylvie was chosen at random from all those who logged into their LCEEQ account during the summer period. She received a one-hundred-dollar gift certificate from Bureau en Gros. You could be the September winner. The more times you log in the better your chances.
