Time for a Well-Deserved Breather

Funding

Regardless of what you have planned for the Winter Break: travel to a warmer climate, some time in the sun on a beach, a skiing adventure, a trip across the pond, or some quiet time at home with family and friends, LCEEQ wishes you a restful break.

Pundits tell us “that a change is as good as a rest” so we encourage you to make the most of the days away from your usual daily routine. Take the opportunity to do something that you really enjoy doing. Turn off the alarm and relish in a few hours of extra sleep, or an occasional nap, pick up that book or magazine you’ve been dying to read, try that recipe that has intrigued you, go for a walk and enjoy the March sun. However you decide to spend the time, ENJOY and make the most of it!

In keeping with the LCEEQ Conference theme, remember the importance of your Well Being - Being Well.

Evaluation Winner

The quality of future Annual Conferences depends on the feedback from participants. We have adopted an online mechanism by which attendees can provide reflective comments after each session, as well as, at the end of the full conference experience.

More than half of the participants who attended the recent LCEEQ Annual Conference, Well Being – Being Well, took the time to fill out and submit the online evaluation form. We are very grateful to those who did so as the information gathered will be included in the Conference Report and used as we move forward with additional events. This is particularly important this year as we will be extending the theme of “wellness in its many aspects“ in February 2020.

Adriana Di Valerio, a Grade One teacher at Springdale School in the Lester B.Pearson School Board responded to the news that her name had been drawn at random from among the many respondents to the survey by stating, “I loved my first-time experience at the conference and really hope I can attend again”. She goes on to say that her students call her “Mrs. D” and that she has been teaching for close to fifteen years. She loves to be creative; baking, cooking, dancing, listening to music, volunteering at her own children’s school, learning new things and helping others. She summarizes it all with, “I have two beautiful boys who keep me on my toes”

Adriana received a one hundred dollar gift card from Cadillac Fairview Malls so she can treat herself to a little something special. It is a small gesture of how much we appreciate participants taking the time to provide us with feedback.
