The LCEEQ Newsletter - Issue 052 - The School's Out for the Summer Edition

Time For a Change of Pace

Gone Fishing

This is the final edition of the LCEEQ Newsletter for 2018-2019. We want to thank our loyal readers and wish all LCEEQ members and educators across the province a wonderful summer vacation. You certainly have earned some time away from your daily routine. Make the most of it enjoying some time with loved ones, some travel adventure, or just some quiet time alone. Whatever you choose, ENJOY!

The newsletter team will be taking a break as well but LCEEQ will have a busy summer preparing for upcoming workshops during August in Math, Leadership, a Writing Workshop, and a first-time Physical Education and Health two-day residential programme. During the holiday period hundreds of teachers will continue to develop their learning.

We are always looking for ideas as to how to better serve our readers, so if you have suggestions over the summer months, please pass them along. Have a Happy Summer!

Preschool Education Adopts a Cycle Approach

Preschool

With the introduction of classes for four-year-olds across the province, changes are taking place in existing programmes at the preschool level. At the most recent LCEEQ meeting, Christiane Bourdages-Simpson provided an overview of what to expect as the new curriculum is implemented. Click here for more information.

Bidding Farewell to Lise Langlois & Congrats to Cindy Finn

May Winner

Monthly Winner

Heather McPherson teaches at Laval Senior Academy for the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board. As a Science specialist she teaches Grade 10 EST Science, Grade 11 Chemistry and a Grade 11 optional science course. Heather states that she has been teaching high school science for 30 years. When her children grew up, she found that she had so much available free time that it led her to decide to return to university and complete a graduate degree in science education. Her current interest is science and math teacher professional development as a means of encouraging high-leverage teaching.

As the LCEEQ prize winner for the month of May, Heather received a one-hundred-dollar gift certificate from Bureau en Gros. You, too, can win by simply logging into your LCEEQ account on a regular basis. Winners are chosen at random so the more frequently you log in each month the better your chances.
