A New Look for LCEEQ's website

new-site

The beginning of the school year is a busy time for all so it is possible that you may not have had the opportunity to drop by the LCEEQ Website recently. If that is the case you are in for a very pleasant surprise. The website has adopted a fresh new look with features that are easy to navigate and plenty of information. We invite you to take a few minutes from your busy schedule to experience the changes.

Remember that every time you log into your account you have the opportunity to win a prize. Featured below is our September winner, chosen at random from the many visitors to the site that month

We are always ready to hear your ideas as to how we can make the site better for you. If you have any questions or suggestions let us know.

Leadership for School Improvement

For more than a decade, LCEEQ has provided very successful leadership training. These intensive workshops have taken the form of a residential six-day package each year and have more than two hundred fifty graduates from across the province. Although there is a notion that these sessions are designed only for young principals and vice principals, or those aspiring to in-school administration as part of a career path, they are very beneficial for educators in all leadership positions. Our schools, adult centres, and head offices are filled with such leaders. These workshops would benefit any individual who perceives themselves as a leader.

In collaboration with AAESQ, a member of LCEEQ, we have tailored the model to offer three days in November of the current year with the balance in November 2024. It is felt that this will put less strain on seasoned administrators who feel that they cannot be away from their schools/centres for sustained periods in the same school year. Between the two in-person sessions there will be scheduled webinars to support ongoing learning.

If you consider yourself an educational leader learn more about the project. Registration is open and available places will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis. Given the nature of the programme there is a limited number of participants.

It is important to note that LCEEQ wishes to continue to support those who have successfully graduated from this programme over the years. Although they are not eligible for this new model, a dedicated session will be held just for Graduates in April. Details can be found here.

LCEEQ Prize Winners

In our previous edition we challenged readers to find the reference to “100” given that it was the hundredth edition of the Newsletter. Many readers reported finding the easier answer found in the monthly prize winner announcement. There was a second reference buried in one of the articles - the Call for Proposals for the Annual Conference. Identifying either made you eligible for the one-hundred-dollar gift card from Chapter’s Indigo. Our lucky winner, Susan Strano the Library Technician at John Rennie High School, was chosen at random so added to her personal library. We thank all those who joined in the fun of recognizing our hundredth publication.

Jodi Moulton , our September website Winner, is a Kindergarten teacher at St. Patrick Elementary School in Pincourt for the Lester B. Pearson School Board. She has been teaching Kindergarten for six years and proudly states, “It's a pleasure witnessing former students grow and learn over their years at our school. I love working in Kindergarten because we laugh and play every day! Circle time is always delightfully different and usually pretty hilarious! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts and spending time outside with my husband and dog.”

Jodi also received a one-hundred-dollar gift card from Chapters as the winner chosen at random from those who signed into their LCEEQ account during the month of September. Are you ready to win …if so, sign into yourLCEEQ account.
