A Summer Literacy Event
Unleash the power of literacy at the Summer Literacy Symposium 2024! Dive into an immersive experience crafted by the Québec Ministry of Education, members of the ELA community and LCEEQ, uniting educators from Grades 1-7, ELA consultants and literacy experts from across the province and beyond.
Mark your calendars for August 18-21, 2024, as we transform the picturesque Manoir St. Sauveur, just 90 minutes north of Montreal, into a hub of inspiration and collaboration.
Inspired by the success of the Summer Math Institute, join us for three days of professional development with the theme, “You are the best resource in your classroom!” Discover evidence-based literacy instruction strategies and connect with fellow educators to enhance your teaching toolkit!

‘Tis The Season
As the holiday season approaches so many things run through our minds; is all the shopping done, have I forgotten to invite anyone for the family gathering, do I have everything I need for the festive meal, can I find some time for some peace and quiet during my break from the daily routine, do I have a good book or some TV binging that I can enjoy to help me to relax and restore my energy, can I find some time to enjoy my favorite outdoor activity, can I carve out a little time to do what brings me joy …. the list is endless. The current labour disruptions certainly add to the apprehension.
We are entering the Season of Wonder and Light, a time for reflection, for family and friends, for celebrations and joy. We hope that you will be able to put aside some of the anxiety and have a chance to rest and find a little time for yourself to do those things that are close to your heart.
LCEEQ wishes you a Happy Holiday and a year to come filled with health, contentment, and lots of laughter to get us through the months and challenges to come.

LCEEQ Monthly Winner
Paul Hudson , our November website Winner, teaches History of Quebec and Canada Secondary 4 and ELA Secondary 4 and 5 at Dollard des Ormeaux school in Quebec City. Paul states, “I have been teaching for 13 years in Quebec City. I am originally from British Columbia but fell in love with Quebec and wound up staying here. I love teaching English because it allows me to force kids to think critically and also pass on my love of literature to as many students as possible. In my spare time, I am an avid golfer during the summer and in the winter I love to take my three kids and my wife to the slopes for family snowboarding outings.”
Paul received a one-hundred-dollar gift card from Indigo as our website winner for November – just in time for some holiday reading. You could be a lucky winner. All you need to do is sign into your LCEEQ account. If you do not have an account it takes just a few seconds to register.
