LCEEQ Project Funding 2024-2025

funding

LCEEQ continues to provide financial support for locally initiated professional development. Two successful programs have been the Professional Development and Innovation Grants (PDIG), and the John Killingbeck Teacher/Administrator Scholarship Program (JKS).

We encourage potential applicants to review the guidelines carefully before beginning an application. Learn more about the PDIG and JKS application processes and be sure to carefully review the LCEEQ Project Funding Document 2024-2025. (the French version is in translation and will be posted when available)

It is also a very positive step to visit the LCEEQ website to learn what other schools have successfully completed in the past. Take a look here to browse reports, videos, and resources submitted as part of past Funding Projects.

Supporting An Important Transition

winter

Students face several transitions from one level to the next throughout their academic lives. An important one involves students moving from Secondary into either CEGEP or Adult and Vocational Education. LCEEQ has resurrected a Subcommittee that existed several years ago when the first Reform Cohort graduated to consider what impact they would have on the existing systems receiving them. Educators at the two levels very much enjoyed the opportunity to get together to share common concerns while developing a clearer understanding of what was occurring at the other level. These exchanges proved to be very fruitful.

To this end, the newly appointed Youth Post Secondary Transition Committee (YPTC) is holding an event entitled: Co-Creating a Portrait of a Graduate: Key Competencies for Life-Long Learning. This is an opportunity to connect with fellow educators while considering common competencies for the students in your charge.

This in-person event is scheduled for April 19, 2024, at the Palace Convention Center. Take a look at the detailed information. There is no fee and registration is now open.

If you are working at these levels you need to consider participating and sharing this information with your colleagues. Bring a friend and add to the exchange.
